In the Fall of 2014, Holy Family will have come full circle in the three year cycle of stewardship themes. The faithful will be invited to reflect on the return that they make to the Lord in supporting the work of our parish and Church, The Body of Christ. We are all poor. We all need each other to feed us…. In many different ways.
Our theme, “Called By God to Serve Him & Others” is all about relationships. Our relationship with God; with fellow parishioners; with the sick; with the needy, all in communion with one another and Christ. We bring our gifts to the community —The Church — and the community supports our needs. And with Eucharist, with Jesus, all are fed. The Lord has blessed our parish and will continue to do so because of the sacrifices that you make, but as always there is much more that can and needs to be done. You are invited to share in the work of the Church, The work of the Body of Christ, through your generosity.
During our 40 years, Holy Family Parish has embraced and taken a deeper look at the value of stewardship. Let us now look at the return we are making to God in our offertory collections. On the weekend of October 18/19, you will find in your pews at Mass a Stewardship Pledge Card which will help you discern your financial contributions. Please take a card home with you and as you examine it, pray that you know what God is asking you to return to him. On October 25/26, you will be asked to make a pledge as to your contribution. This is a pledge you are making to God, not to Holy Family. No one at Holy Family will be reading these pledges. These pledge cards will be collected during the Offertory on October 25/26 and returned to the ushers. After the 6:00 Mass on Oct 26, these cards will be burned. The smoke rising to heaven will represent your pledge to God. All parishioners are invited to attend this event.
