Great Jubilee of Mercy: Message from Father John

Great Jubilee of Mercy: Message from Father John

My Brothers and Sisters,

As the Great Jubilee of Mercy (Year of Mercy) approaches I wanted to give you some updates on what we will be doing here at Holy Family.

We will be providing more availability to the sacrament of penance throughout the year but more notably during the season of Advent and Lent. For the month of December we have the following available to our parishioners.

The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception we have Mass on Monday Dec. 7th at 7pm, Tuesday Dec. 8th at 6:30am, 9am and 7pm. We will offer Confessions before each Mass (30 minutes prior to, except for the 6:30am Mass)

Fr. John will be offering a presentation at The Collegium Center for Faith and Culture, 301 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights, NJ 08035 on “God’s Gift of Mercy: Confession, Why and How,” on Friday Dec. 11th at 7pm. Fr. John will also offer the same presentation at our Parish on Saturday Dec. 12th at 6pm in the Aquin Hall.

Holy Family has been chosen as one of the Triduum Parishes of Deanery III of the Diocese of Camden for a Penance Service which is scheduled for Tuesday Dec. 15th at 7pm.

We will also have Confession available on Monday Dec. 21st at 9:30am to 10:30am, as well as on Tuesday Dec. 22nd at 9:30am to 10:30am and again that evening from 5 to 7pm.

We will continue to have regular scheduled Confessions times which are after the Saturday 9am morning mass, 9:30 to 10am and 3:45pm to 4:20pm on Saturday afternoons.

Bishop Sullivan will be celebrating the opening of the Holy Doors in our Deanery at Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish in Glassboro at 8am on Sunday December 20th.

As you can see there will be many opportunities to celebrate this great Jubilee. There are many more events to take place throughout the Year of Mercy, we will keep you all posted.

In Christ Jesus,
Fr. John
