Holy Family Softball Team
As the snow melts and spring approaches, it is time to plan on outdoor activities. While many of us are gardeners or walkers, there is a great activity that allows us to enjoy the fresh air, community and friendly competition: Parish Softball!
Holy Family was one of the founding members of the Parish Softball League. For the last six years we have competed with other local parishes in a Spring/Summer League. As the time for warmer weather approaches so does our preparation for another season. Now is the time we look to add to our roster. The Parish Softball League currently consists of six teams that play games during the Spring and Summer. The league is open to all men and women ages 18 and over. It is a slow pitch league where all the rules are tailored to the enjoyment of the game and fellowship with our competitors.
Practice is scheduled to start in early April with games running through the playoffs which usually end in August with the annual All Star game. The first game is usually after Mother’s Day. All are welcome to sign up and attend practice as we build upon our existing roster. It is a great opportunity to meet fellow parishioners for the first time or get to know some better. It also builds community outside our own parish with other parishes with whom we compete. Come out and enjoy great sportsmanship built upon faith and fellowship. If you do not desire to play, feel free during the year to come out and support the team!
Anyone interested can contact Phil Muldoon at philmuldoon@comcast.net or through the Parish Office. Please leave your contact information, including your email address. Everyone interested will receive an email with notice of the practice schedule once it is set.”
