Youth Ministry Program Offerings at Church of the Holy Family

Baccalaureate: Held in June of each year at Twp. High School, Youth Ministry representatives and the Pastor attend the baccalaureate ceremony at Twp. High School and The Pastor offers a blessing or words of encouragement.

Back Pack Drive: Youth collect back to school supplies by parish donations and then sort and pack backpacks according to lists provided by Cathedral Kitchen, Ronald McDonald House and Robins Nest. Backpacks are delivered and distributed to youth in need thru the above organizations.

Coffee Talk: Coffee Talk takes place every single Sunday!! We meet for Mass together at 11:30 and then continue over to the Aquin for some coffee (or hot chocolate), snacks and games! We start with fun (corn hole, ladder ball, basketball) and conclude with some Gospel Talk on how we can apply the Gospel to our daily lives!

First Friday: Every First Friday of the month join us for an EPIC EVENT! We start with a youth led Mass (we need your talents!!!- Looking for singers, musicians, readers and servers). Next we gather for a fun-filled evening and an epic activity. Some previous FF events have been: Escape Room, Darts of War, Video Game Tournament, Olympic Games, Movie Nights. We are always looking for new suggestions!

Fundraising: Held through the year, Youth work together to help raise funds to offset program expenses. Bake sales, car washes and dine out nights have been the most successful.

Monzo Madness: Youth Ministry adult volunteers and The Rock@Twp. host a 2am Grilled Cheese party at Twp. High School on MLK weekend as a way to connect with the student body during their annual all night dance-athon for ALS. Area parishes donate the supplies needed, coordinated by the Youth Ministry Offices of The Rock Youth Leaders.

Ohana: Join us every other Thursday for our youth gatherings called Ohana! Ohana means family in Hawaiian and that is exactly what we try to foster at our events. At Ohana we will start with food and chatter, continue with a spiritual component (prayer, speakers, service), and conclude with a fun activity (dodgeball, volleyball, crafts). All that is missing is YOU!

RCIAT: Right of Christian Initiation Adapted For Teens: Designed for high school students who have missed religious education classes and or converting to Catholicism. Participants receive the Sacraments as deemed in each youth’s individualized faith formation plan.

Rock at Twp: The 3rd Chapter in the Diocese of the Camden, Catholic After-school Program, students meet at Twp. High School alternating Thursdays for prayer, topic discussion, community building and connections about parish life and opportunities. The Rock has student elected officers that help facilitate meetings and student participation. The Rock at Twp. is a 3 parish collaborative of the 3 Catholic Parishes in Washington Township which include Holy Family, St. Charles Borromeo and Sts. Peter and Paul. The 3 parish Youth Ministry leaders/representatives work together to plan topics and take turns hosting snack and supplies. A faculty member at Twp. High School acts as the liason between the school and the Youth Leaders.

Social Media: Accounts are updated daily on TikTok Instagram, and Remind101

Spring Retreat: Held from Friday thru Sunday evening, youth gather together to spend time in prayer, discussion and community building based around a theme that connects with the Diocesan Youth Congress held on Sunday. Youth provide their own transportation to the retreat. Participants pay a fee to help offset the weekend expenses.

Youth Rally: Held on the 3rd Sunday in May at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ. Youth enjoy a day of rides and fun with other Catholic Youth from the State of NJ. The day includes a lunch buffet and ends with Mass in the amphitheater. The Mass rotates thru each Diocese and the Mass is celebrated by the different Bishops. A chartered motor coach is taken and attendees as well as parents pay the ticket admission fee.
